   State .......No state Income Taxes .......however........8.25% Sales tax  Property Taxes high along with all other taxes.

   Example.....2008 taxes........ my buddy lives in a nice area of Spring ..has a house worth 350k ......he will pay around 9k in      taxes and because he lives in an unincorporated part of Houston has to pay for a Homeowners Association Fee of                    $1000.This fee takes care of the extras such as a safe neighborhood (side walks , extra Police Patrols , etc)

   Schools in Texas are rated  physically. When you start looking at an area or town .......most schools have ratings on the          outside. The ratings are Exemplary (Best) ........Recognized...........Acceptable...........Unacceptable.....

   When considering a area , please be advised that your neighbor across the street could go to a different school as your kid      would. Never take the word of a Real Estate agent on which school you'll be going to....if you find a school you want ..visit the    school and ask if your house is in their district and if there is bus service. They have a problem with sidewalks here.....they      don't like to build them.....so if you are too close to the school for bus service , you have to consider whether to drive them       or  let them walk.
